Gift Card Sale Terms

Last updated: July 3, 2026

These terms apply when you sell a gift card to CardDeals for a cash payout. They are in addition to our general Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. By submitting a card, you agree to everything below.

1. What this is

CardDeals LLC ("CardDeals," "we," "us") buys unused gift cards from you outright. This is a sale of property: when we pay you, ownership of the gift card and its full balance transfers to us. We are not holding your funds, acting as an escrow, or transmitting money on your behalf — we are purchasing a good from you for cash.

2. Eligibility

To sell a card, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old and a resident of the United States;
  • Have a valid account and complete identity verification (KYC) with our provider;
  • Connect a payout account in your own legal name; and
  • Be the lawful owner of the card you submit, with the right to sell it.

3. Your offer and how you are paid

When you submit a card you see an estimated payout, based on the brand and the balance you enter. The estimate is not a final, binding price. The amount we actually pay is calculated as your verified balance (the balance we confirm on the card) multiplied by the rate shown, and it is never more than the face value you stated.

  • If the verified balance matches what you entered, you are paid the estimated amount.
  • If the verified balance is lower than you entered, we email you a revised offer. No payout is sent until you accept it; you may decline and we will take no further action.
  • Payouts are sent to your connected account after verification and a short fraud-review hold, typically within 1 to 2 days of submission. Bank transfers generally arrive in 1 to 2 business days after that. We charge no fees; the rate you see is what you get.

4. Your promises about the card

Each time you submit a card, you represent and warrant that:

  • You legally own the card and obtained it lawfully;
  • The card is valid, active, and holds the balance you state, with no holds, freezes, or pending disputes;
  • The card was not obtained through fraud, theft, a stolen or unauthorized payment method, or any promotion whose terms prohibit resale; and
  • You have not used, redeemed, transferred, sold, or shared the card or its code with anyone else, and you will not do so after submitting it to us.

5. No draining, no double-selling

Once you submit a card, you must not spend it, transfer it, sell it elsewhere, or otherwise reduce its balance. Because you retain knowledge of the card code, you agree that using or draining the card after submission — or after payout — is a material breach and may constitute fraud. If a card's balance is reduced by you after we verify it or after we pay you, you agree to repay us the amount we paid, and we may recover it, pursue chargebacks or clawbacks, suspend your account, and report the activity to the relevant authorities.

6. Verification, holds, and rejection

We may verify the card's balance and your identity before paying, place a payout on a fraud-review hold, request additional information, and re-check the balance close to payout. We may reject any submission at our discretion — for example if the card can't be verified, appears invalid or high-risk, or if identity verification fails. If we reject a submission, no payout is made and we do not acquire the card.

7. Finality

A completed sale is final. Once we have paid you for a card, the sale is not reversible by you, and the card and its balance belong to CardDeals. We may resell, redeem, or otherwise use the card as we see fit.

8. Identity, taxes, and records

Identity verification is handled by our KYC provider; your ID information is processed by them, not stored by us in raw form. Card numbers and PINs you submit are encrypted. You are responsible for any taxes on amounts you receive, and we may be required to collect tax information or file reports (for example IRS Form 8300 for large cash purchases) as the law requires.

9. Prohibited conduct

You may not submit cards you do not own, use another person's identity or payout account, submit the same card more than once, automate or abuse the service, or attempt to manipulate offers or payouts. Violations may result in withheld payouts, account termination, and legal action.

10. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, CardDeals is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability for any submission is limited to the payout amount for that submission. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the version in effect when you submit a card governs that sale. Questions? Contact [email protected].
