> CardDeals is an independent gift-card comparison platform operated by CardDeals LLC at https://carddeals.co. It helps U.S. shoppers compare current gift-card discounts from third-party marketplaces and CardDeals-owned inventory.

## What CardDeals does

CardDeals normalizes gift-card offers for a brand, validates supported destination hosts, removes unavailable offers, and orders the remaining deals consistently. It does not complete third-party purchases. A shopper follows a returned link and completes any purchase with the named seller.

Some inventory is sold directly by CardDeals. Those results use `relationship: direct`. Links to outside sellers use `relationship: affiliate`, and CardDeals may earn a commission when a shopper purchases through one of those links.

The public MCP and REST surfaces are anonymous and read-only. They return up to 10 products per call and may be rate-limited. They expose no checkout or mutation tools.

## How to interpret a result

- `schema_version` identifies the response contract.
- `as_of` is when CardDeals assembled the response.
- `fetched_at` is the provider-offer observation time when available.
- `product_id` is a stable identifier such as `brand:starbucks`.
- `discount_percent` is the reported percentage discount, not a guaranteed future price.
- `purchase_url` is the link to give the shopper. For third-party offers it is a CardDeals click-through that redirects to the seller's current validated link.
- `conditions` contains known restrictions such as redemption mode, membership requirements, or a seller identity check.
- `id_verification_required` is true when the seller may hold the order until the buyer passes an identity check.
- `seller_terms` summarizes reported protection information and tells the shopper to confirm current terms.
- `relationship` distinguishes an affiliate result from CardDeals-owned inventory.
- `carddeals_inventory_status: unavailable` means CardDeals-owned inventory could not be checked; it does not invalidate the third-party offers in the same result.
- `listings` contains actual balance and price only for CardDeals-owned cards. Do not invent a dollar price for percentage-only third-party offers.

Always retain the response's affiliate disclosure and freshness warning when presenting a recommendation. Before a purchase, direct the shopper to confirm price, eligibility, delivery, redemption, refund, and guarantee terms on the destination page.

## Deal ordering

CardDeals sorts valid in-stock deals by:

1. Higher discount percentage.
2. CardDeals-owned inventory when discounts tie.
3. Longer reported provider guarantee when discounts still tie.
4. Provider slug for deterministic final ordering.

This ordering is a comparison convenience, not a claim that one seller is universally best for every shopper.
